Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
There is no way we are selling Mertesacker, Park, or Santos.. we just got them. They get an automatic 5 years out of us at least.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I don't see it tbh. There's Vermaelen, Koscielny and Mertesacker, who all three are class defenders, though some of you may not rate Mertesacker. Even so, Mertesacker won't be sold, as pointed out above. You'd have these three and Vertonghen fighting for two starting spots, meaning one of those four won't even make it to the bench. This is considering Djourou will be sold.
As much as I'd like it to happen, because I think Vertonghen fits Arsenal perfectly, I don't really see it happen. It would be a rather odd signing.
There's nothing happening yet in the Dutch media, btw.

Mertesacker is a good defender.
Nice to see Podolski will feel right at home.

Podolski owns his own club.

Djourou won't be sold, I can guarantee that. I don't really want him to be sold either. He's good enough as a fourth choice centre-back. In the games he's filled in there (not including early season nightmare), he did a decent enough job. Same with Santos, by the way. He's alright as a substitute left-back and he offers something different with his attacking threat. Both will and should be kept.

@ Blade.
Don't know if anyone has already asked this, but why did you delete your account and come back under a new name?

I left because I was annoyed at how shit the forum had become and I thought I'd just discuss football over on Twitter. Didn't really like using Twitter so I reluctantly came back here.

Poldi seems like a great guy, the more I think about the move, the more I'm liking it.

What about the millions of other football related forums? Or Arsenal related forums? Why come back to a forum that's 'shit' if you could find a new, good one? Which there are plenty of.

Didn't really bother to look for other forums. I just came back to the one I was most used to.

I see.
Final question.
How did it feel to be easily beaten on FIFA by someone you despise?

Not too bad, because you weren't cheap or anything so it was actually a somewhat enjoyable game.

Exactly what I was thinking. We've got Verm and Robin for now, M'Vila will give them some thug cred

Are you guys worried at all about his only other spell at a big club? Didn't he flop pretty hard at Bayern and then go back to Cologne?
Dont know if he'll be able to handle playing for a big team in London.
