I'll put it like this. I don't feel after supporting Brisbane as I have the last two seasons, now that I've been able to go by myself, and join active support that I am a support of Tottenham, I'm not apart of the club at all and that leaves me feeling very disconnected from the club, where as I'm very close to Brisbane Roar.
I believe it was James on here who said, sure you can be a fan of a club from 1000 miles away, but you're not a supporter of a club unless you go to games and get involved with the support and actually get behind your team. (That wasn't his exact words but you get me).
So I guess I'm still a Spurs fan, but I'm not a supporter, and when asked who I support I won't say Spurs.

supporter [səˈpɔːtə]
n
2. a person who backs a sports team, politician, etc.
fan
n
1. an ardent admirer of a pop star, film actor, football team, etc.
__________
I see myself as both a fan and a supporter of Liverpool. I've been one for about 10-11 years now.
I don't think you have to go to games to be a supporter. I shared a season ticket with my Stepdad at Anfield for one season, does that mean I was only a supporter of Liverpool for one season?
I pay a monthly membership on the Official site, does that mean I'm a supporter? As I am giving money to the Club.
Just searching for some clarification here.

Depends. Your stereotypical FL fan will think they're better than fans of say Man Utd because they go to games, are you that kind of person? I personally don't think I'm a better fan because I go to games and support my local team. All that is pure shite.

I understand what you're getting at, but let me ask you this, do you feel connected to your club, like you get involved with and amongst the support?
I don't with Spurs, I've come to admit that, I feel very disconnected when it comes to Spurs, I'm not involved with the club at all, I don't actually believe anyone in Australia, New Zealand, America and such, unless they're originally from England can actually feel connected to a club overseas and support them more then their local side once they start actually going to games and getting amongst it, until then they're just kidding themselves. You I can understand you, you're from England, I believe for some time you lived in Liverpool, or some where near and they were your local side.

Take your opinion from my post I just posted, I'd like to think I'm not better then people, but I still don't believe people in countries like me in Australia, New Zealand, America, Asia can support the club and feel connected from that far away, they're just kidding themselves in my opinion.

When you said I was becoming James, I thought about it, I've actually thought about a lot of the things James has said and I'm alining myself with his beliefs. As I said to Charlie, I'm becoming James 2.0

Sorry Harrold.
I mean living within the country is a different thing, it's just the connection is a major thing, and unless you're originally from that country/city/town, you're not going to feel that connection in my opinion.

Same. More so when it's used in an argument on why they know more about football.
