QPR are also fighting for relegation.

United have to play Swansea and Sunderland who have fuck all to play for, like Mancini said.. easy games.
City have Newcastle away who are battling for top 4 and have some of the best forwards in the league then QPR managed by Mark Hughes who has beef with them.. points will be dropped.
League IN.
I reckon that as Swansea and Sunderland have nothing to play for it will make them more difficult games, as they can freely attack with caring about conceding.

At least City's fixtures have something to play for, Swansea and Sunderland and not playing for anything.

Yeah, there is, there's also transfers, and Ferguson's transfers have left us reliant on two midfielders who are nearly 40 in our biggest matches, and he has every intention of keeping them on ad infinitum.

He's more conservative than Ferguson, certainly, but that's not always a bad thing.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
When Liverpool got rid of their longest serving manager they won 3 European Cups, 6 League titles and several Cup competitions in the next 9 years.

Someone call Sparky and tell him to go for a single point by putting 11 behind the ball.

Thing about Capello is he doesn't know that much English and he's been here for almost 4 years.

Shutting up shop isn't a bad idea in itself, but shutting up shop with those personnel (which we are reliant on because of his neglect of midfield and sale of O'Shea) is just crazy.

QPR will get battered, 3 easy points there- get the season long unbeaten at home "record" too.Chris wrote:Res don't worry.

If Newcastle play ANYTHING like they did against Wigan, oh dear, oh dear.
Even with nothing to play for, Swansea and Sunderland will want to beat us. Plus Swansea are half decent, and we've not been fantastic at Sunderland in recent years.
89 points each come 13th May I think.

I find giving up an 8 point lead thanks largely to shit defending and reliance on retired players to be a step in the wrong direction.

They have a better chance of doing that then they have to match them on the pitch.

Why does my love for United grow more when we're in positions like this? I should be disappointed but I feel so proud where we are in the league, and things we've done in the season, it don't make no mofuggin sense.

It's natural. When you have to defend your bawbag against relentless attacks. Your love grows stronger for your bawbag.
It's the same with me.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
This match is yet another example that possession football is the way to go in modern football, however Ferguson persists in playing counter attacking tactics with players of poor passing abilities and first touches in Rooney, Nani, Park, Jones.
As I have said for numerous years, United would be a far more successful team if they had more players of the calibre of Dimitar Berbatov that can match his passing and possession game. Watching the majority of the United players attempt to play a quick passing game is embarrassing at times, it is surprising that Ferguson is willing to let Dimitar Berbatov go this summer when it would be preferable to build the team around him.

Probably but it's all academic anyway. Ferguson will keep his job regardless of his failures, regardless of his retarded decisions, because he's Ferguson, he's untouchable. He's defined a great manager because of his record, not because of any great management, anything good that happens to United, it's because Ferguson is a great manager, anything bad that happens to United, any shit tactics, horrific transfer decisions, it's not his fault, it's Malcolm Glazer and David Gill's fault. I swear to God it's worse than the Dalglish worship.

SAF should be given one more season to improve things. Transitional periods don't always happen over time, but if SAF is not at least heading in the right direction next season (we will see with his signings), then ManUtd need to look for someone else.
Managers shouldn't be untouchable. Just look at Arsenal.

Whatever happens this season, I'm looking forward to seeing this squad grow, with maybe a couple of signings but I think we've got a great basis, though it's slightly worrying that City will probably buy another couple world class players. As Fergie said, they're here to stay.
