Concerned on Manchester City's form, but hopefully any complacency has been eliminated.

Interesting one. Thinking of just Fabio, good for him. Really hasn't seen any playing time at all this season, Rafael's had the right back spot all but nailed down. We can always recall him as well if needs be.
Does beg the question how Ferguson rates Patrice Evra, clearly not as harshly as we do. Could be more time (in the cups at least) for Fryers.

Evra is one of Fergies favorites, Like Giggs.
They don't have to perform well to be in the team.

Don't think Fryers is that great to be honest, Fabio is much better and needs to be first choice ahead of Fryers. Saw him (Fryers) play against Coritiba and he was very much beasted on. Some of the other academy players don't impress me either, like Tunniclife. Will Keane on the other hand is a striker to watch, same with his brother.Danny wrote:http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2012/Apr/fabio-to-go-out-on-loan.aspx

I said Fabio or Rafael should go out on loan a few weeks ago and got laughed at .Danny wrote:http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2012/Apr/fabio-to-go-out-on-loan.aspx

Evra is a leader, I think that's why he's relied upon so much. Whenever we don't have Rio or Vidic in the middle he seems to be the one making the defensive calls.

Yeah, it's no surprise that he's missed 1 league game all season- because he's the captain.Laurencio wrote:Danny wrote:http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2012/Apr/fabio-to-go-out-on-loan.aspx

I like Super's little comment there, takes every opportunity to criticise one of our players.

Giggs is a fantastic footballer. I'm not suprised he is one of Fergies favourites!

I can't quite get over how Scholes has changed our season. Given me a whole new appreciation for him. I loved him before, but now I simply adore him.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
Fabio is first choice ahead of Fryers, the problem is he isn't ahead of Evra. Playing in the reserves week in week out is okay for Fryers at the moment, just as it was for Fabio when he first joined. But now he's 21/22, he needs to be getting regular football or he'll just get bored sitting on the bench watching Rafael and Evra play at full back, and probably want to leave.chiboygeorge wrote:Don't think Fryers is that great to be honest, Fabio is much better and needs to be first choice ahead of Fryers. He likes Giggs is a fantastic footballer. Is he out injured or something, I think I heard he was, because if he is that could be a key part of whether you win the title.

There's been times since he's came back our only central options have been Carrick, Scholes and Giggs. All in their 30s.

Good news for you then. Him and Michael Carrick have been brilliant.

I know, it's disappointing, but the man is mint. I would love to see him go to the Euros this summer, because I believe he can truly be the difference between a good England side and a lackluster one. Just give him the chance and he'll go out with a bang.

Don't send him to the Euros, give him a new contract and let him rest for next season.

He doesn't have that many seasons left. We need to get in a replacement as soon as at all possible. He retired a year ago, and we have seen a significant weakness in our squad because of it. In all likelihood this is his last chance to do anything for England, and I think he regrets not having taken Capello up on his offer to go the World Cup. With a new manager, and more unity in the squad, I think he can do an exceptional job both on and off the field. He has something to prove, and I think he should be allowed to prove it. He deserves that.

That came out wrong
I meant that with England having more unity and balance with a new manager at the helm, I think Paul Scholes, with a little bit of trust, can make a decisive difference for an England side.

He'd make a difference, yeah, but I don't think a decisive one. With or without him, we're not going to win the Euros.Laurencio wrote:Danny wrote:

He can play on next season easily, so I'd give him a new contract. Obviously I'd like us to sign Modric too, but Daniel Levy's a cunt, so that won't happen.

Never say never. Look how he turned us around. What England clearly lacked in the World Cup was control of the ball and of the game. Against USA there were moments of OK play, but mostly it was trying to run towards the goal randomly, it didn't really work. Against Algeria the tactical discipline was none existent, and there was absolutely no control of the ball. Against Germany it was even worse. Despite a few decent plays, it was all very rushed, a complete lack of a capable midfield caused the Germans to overrun the defense, and whenever England attacked it was hurried, badly planned and random.
Paul Scholes provides that level of control and planning. He can control the tempo of the game, he can decide how the game will flow and he can either force the team to play wide, or to play short. He's a magnificent playmaker. I truly believe his impact would be significant. There are still some technical and tactical weaknesses to overcome, but Paul Scholes will certainly make the job easier.
