Re: Chelsea FC Official thread
Modric is the best option for that deep lying playmaker role I guess, I was already spot on with Mata signing for Chelsea in Feb 2011.

Re: Chelsea FC Official thread
Modric must be gutted, kept at Spurs against his will and reaches the top 4 with Spurs only to be outdone by the team he could have won the Champions League with, and he'll probably be stuck with Spurs next season in the Europa League too

Bale or Hazard?
If Bale could get in crosses from the right like he does from the left then it would have to be Bale, right?

Can't see you getting Hazard, but you could get Hulk/Modric.

Nah I forgot that Malouda, etc will probably leave. Was just thinking that Roman was allegedly willing to pay that much for Hazard, why not add a few extra mil and try and lure Bale, a player that's actually needed.

He's been so good since he's been put in that deep role shows a lot more than Gerrard does in midfield.

Re: Chelsea FC Official thread
That's what I said last night, was so composed, can't remember him making a single mistake.
Might re-watch it too now that I'm not a bag of nerves.

Full Torres interview, seems like he's in disbelief and we've he's been given broken promises.

He's talking about playing Atletico in the super cup and stuff, I don't think he's thinking completely of leaving, just wants reassurances that he'll get more playing tine

Chelsea!
I remember standing at Anfield in the old spion kop in 1990 and watching Liverpool playing Chelsea and the 3 to 4000 Chelsea fans were singing this and were up and down while singing this song. The had different lyrics back then, it was one man went to mow went to mow a "West Ham" one man and his baseball bat went to mow a "West ham"

The way Chelsea have treated Torres is a joke. Not just in this final, but over the season. I can't think of a better way to absolutely destroy a players confidence than to play a 34 year old instead of him on a regular basis. And you wonder why he is low on confidence. You give a debut to a 22 year old defender and play him IN THE FINAL on the wing instead of Torres. Why didn't they just spit in Fernando's face? Chelsea don't deserve Fernando. He should return to Liverpool, or move to a team like Athletico Bilbao who are on the up.

Lets see who is the Chelsea player for longer, Drogba or Torres. Chelsea thinking 'lets invest in a 34 year old who's going to leave at the end of the season' instead of their record breaking transfer.
Bottom line, you CANNOT buy a player for 50mil and then play a 34 year old instead.
If Torres really is feeling better and hungrier than ever, as he self-proclaims, then he should be the one starting week in-week out.
Starting 22 year old defender almost = embarrassing loss to Bayern had Torres not come on and won the corner. And where was Bertrand? I distinctly remember him losing possession in the second half, and that is it. Could have been playing with ten men and there would have been minimal difference. But play your record signing? Of course not. Why would you? It's not like you coughed up 50mil for him. Wait...
If I was Torres, I would be more than pissed that this guy was given a debut in the final over me.

Torres to Liverpool. If they can pay £25-30mil I think Chelsea should carry him on their backs to Liverpool.

And yet it makes sense to sit and rot on the bench or when he does come on play for 20 mins out of postion ?
The gap between Liverpool and Chelsea is not that big.
