Re: Chelsea FC Official thread
yeah he is questioning the things you said
he really hasnt done much but play 4-5-1. i would say he did get the best out of drogba and few others but dalglish did the same too with liverpool when he took over mid season(we know how that turned out). its alot easier to come in and gather everyone after a tough start
I said dalglish would fail and i am saying it again with matteo and i would bet alot of money that i am right again

I don't really think he should get the job, but he should stay as assistant. Let someone more experienced and skilled take charge.

When it comes to certain defensive performances in the Champions League, yes. When it comes to the league, and the FA Cup however, they have been quite solid.

I don't see how he wont get the job now, but I honestly don't see him lasting that long.. maybe he'll prove me wrong.

I just think they're going to expect so much after this, and don't think he can live up to it, I don't think they've been anything special in the league either.Laurencio wrote:kyro7 wrote:His tactics have left Chelsea all over the place at times and it's just been down to luck.Laurencio wrote:

I disagree. He has changed more than the formation. The way Chelsea press, defend and even build up their attacks is completely different from what they attempted under Andres Villas Boas. There are substantial tactical changes made in almost every game, and good ones at that. He left it a little late last night (Torres on for hopeless Kalou), but generally he's been making good tactical decisions IMO.
He's not Dalglish though, and that comparison isn't really fair to either of them.

That I agree with. They haven't been anything special, but they have done the job, and that's what matters the most.

yeah he fixed everything AVB did but thats not rocket science what AVB did didnt work lol (well wasnt given the time and players for it to work i should say) so he just went back to the chelsea of last season

Re: Chelsea FC Official thread
Will just doing the job.. of coming into a team with no confidence and getting them steady mentally be enough to challenge for the title? We'll have to wait and see. Because no doubt that's what Roman expects.

He did what was necessary. That's what a manager does. The fact that it isn't rocket science doesn't really matter. He's made good tactical decisions, made good squad management moves and shown intelligence in his handling of media and player egos. He's shown that he can do part of the job. However, ff he does get the job, which I hope he does, it is next season we will see the true ability of Di Matteo as he will have to start building his own team.

ok i see you are saying we havent seen enough to say whether he is good or bad, i would agree with that
but i really think he will not succeed. we shall see if he is given the chance
i just dont think chelsea should take the risk. they should just get a experienced manager in but that would be harsh on matteo i guess

Harsh and equally risky. Di Matteo has shown he can handle Chelsea's egos, he deserves a chance to prove he can do the rest of the job as well. Very few managers, as shown in the past, have been able to handle Chelsea's squad and the mere fact that he's been able to gives him an advantage over any other candidate IMO.
The players like him, he has their respect and he handles the media well. He's already won two trophies and seem to have a good relationship with Roman. He's off to a great start.

Re: Chelsea FC Official thread
but in the end if he didnt win the CL final he would be out for sure.. why does a penalty shootout (which is pure luck, forget the match) make him go from no chance of being manager to should be manager

Because Roman is crazy that way. Personally I believe he warranted the job regardless of the CL result, he turned their season around in more ways than one.

I honestly have no idea why you are so angry at me because I told you to get over Chelsea winning the Champions league, pretty sure you said they aren't your rivals so why give a fuck?

Will probably go to City although we might know more tonight.
He's the sort of player Chelsea need, not to mention the fact that he's one of the best talents in Europe, how can it be a waste of money?

EDIT: I swear all he said was he likes both red and blue.
"It's the blue that I'll be wearing next season," Hazard said in response to a question as to whether he preferred red or blue. While he admitted to liking both colors, Hazard made sure to finish with, "Definitely the blue."
That quote was exposed as a fake one, unfortunately.

Think it looks like Hazard is coming to us, especially with us making it into the UCL next season. I'd say he wants playing time so we're a more logical choice then City too.

Who knows what he wants? If PT is important to him, Chelsea and United make more sense. If cash money is all he's after, City makes the most sense.luke. wrote:Think it looks like Hazard is coming to us, especially with us making it into the UCL next season. I keep forgetting we've already signed Marin.
Also, according to reports we're offering more cash then City are willing to.
