Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
No brotherly love for Rio
Rio Ferdinand admits his desire to help United be successful is so strong that it comes between family on occasion.
Sunday's clash against QPR will once again see Rio up against younger brother Anton whom he has faced a number of times in the past during Anton's spells at West Ham and Sunderland.
Both brothers will be aiming to help their teams earn points for different reasons, with the Reds wanting to maintain their lead at the top and QPR fighting for survival. Rio is determined to ensure the result goes United's way at Old Trafford and that he finishes the day the happier of the Ferdinand brothers.
"It's special if we win [when we play against each other]. I can enjoy it more, but if we lose I go into hiding and don't come out. I don't speak to family or anyone for a few days," he told ManUtd.com. "I have blanked family and friends at Upton Park before because we have not got the right result. I have just got on the bus and made my way back to Manchester. They have been texting to ask where I am. I don't reply for a couple of days. I get in a sulk sometimes because I want to win.
"Sometimes West Ham have needed the result to stay up, or at Sunderland so they [the rest of the family] just go with who needs the results," he added. "This time I don't think they can side with anyone because we both need to win."
I swear this bollocks comes up every time we play whatever club Anton Ferdinand's at. Big wow, we're playing against Rio's brothers side, who cares?

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
It has, but Rooney has just been lazy. He's been giving away possession and then just looks like "meh, fuck it". Poor accuracy on his passes, didn't defend, or put any real energy into defending, hardly helped out properly on attacks, and just sort of walked around looking at the match and players. He wasn't really "playing".

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
Scholes was probably our MOTM today. His passing was sublime at times, and he hardly put a foot wrong. The trademark goal as well would really seal it for him.
Rooney didn't have his best game, but it's kind of typical of what he's sometimes been like lately. To be honest, he hasn't been consistently putting in good performances for a while now, however he's still been managing to score consistently. That can only be a good thing for us. Usually when he stops playing well, he stops scoring. That hasn't been the case this time though.

You're exaggerating, after the Scholes goal he didn't look too bothered, but before that he had about 3 shots that made Kenny work, scored the penalty and played fine, 62 out of 75 passes isn't the worst either. He was spreading the play to our wingers well too.

I just didn't think he played anywhere near as well as he can. Not that it affected the result or anything, but it was a tad annoying to watch someone with that much ability not really give a damn.
