Just to make it clear, I don't believe that this is actually going to happen.
Will probably go to TBK.

English Literature and American Studies.
And with that, I'm off to go read some more.

It is a very easy choice, neither.
I'd much rather go somewhere else in the country than remain here.

I know what you meant.
As much as I like it here, I'd like to try life somewhere else.

That's very cynical.
If you do nothing at uni you'll more than likely drop out, such is the level of work.
It's a bit cruel to suggest that idiots don't deserve a sense of self worth, too.

There is nothing cynical in that post. Idiots do not deserve self worth. In fact, it is cruel to trick them into believing that they are successful because they graduated from a community college.Zzonked wrote:That's very cynical.

Malcolm X right now, as it happens.
He needs to mention that Malcolm's views were more extreme than MLK's, and he ended up alienating much of his audience, black or white, with his black nationalism.

He's pretty much wrote a lot of it, like Malcolm X took a much more violent approach etc and MLK's bus boycott and other things that he was successful in, just need's to find something extra he could put in.

In basic, Malcolm X (Black Power as a whole) lost a lot of white support that MLK had gained for Civil Rights.

MLK had a lot of white sponsorship...the march on Washington was funded by a white organisation. Malcolm X refused any such patronage.Start. wrote:Glen Damon wrote:I'm reading the Autobiography of

According to Malcolm X, at least. He's not exactly unbiased when it comes to MLK.

Malcolm X changed his thoughts though when he left the Nation of Islam and converted to true Islam.

By members of the Nation of Islam. If only he lived longer once he changed.

Re: Chat Thread
He's wrote this on The March on Washington
"Martin Luther King ran 'The march on Washington' August 28, 1963. Nobody was sure how many people would turn out for the demonstration in Washington. But an estimated quarter of a million people bothered to turn up it was incredible how a quarter of them was white people. The march led
from Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial, The fact that 'The march on Washington' was so succesful was because although the heavy numbers of the polices presence turned out to be unnecessary as the march was extremely calm and peaceful to anybody's beleif.
The significance of the March on Washington was in what it achieved afterwards particularly the laws that were enacted and enforced, from civil rights to voting rights to human rights and how it managed to change both men and women's hearts and minds about civil rights. This would not have worked if Malcolm X took this approach because he didn't want to interact with white people unless he had to include violence. Malcolm X did not like to sit down and talk peacefully to white people about civil rights he thought he would make riots and make white people scared so they would eventually have to agree with his methods and accept black people as equal."
Edit it if you feel he's wrong, Not sure myself.
