We've also let him down in the regard that he carried the team for most of last year, displayed great character, and then we absolutely destroyed his confidence by signing players that immediately went into the lineup ahead of him.

Kuyt is a fantastic finisher when he has confidence.

If Downing played like that more often I would actually send him a letter of apology. He was quality, and he actually showed us that he has pace.
