I see what you're getting at, but it's really nothing new. There's a book that pretty much explains the formulas for everything single story ever basically, but I don't remember the name. Humans have been using the same story-telling techniques from the dawn of time.
You know why I also don't like Harry Potter. Magic being pretty much the sole focus. I don't like magic users very much, I liked Gandalf but he could swing a sword too. My favorite fantasy characters are those characters that would charge to the front lines and fight head to head.
You know I have a very violent personality, even though I go out of my way to try to never hurt anyone. Every fight I've ever been in I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have some great story ideas, but I can only do short ones since I have a real problem filling in the middle. Always come up with great beginnings and endings.
Like this story with a guy who made a deal with Death to complete a task, and then Death comes to visit him but as a woman.
Sounds like a rip-off of Faust to be honest.
