Agreed. However, why are other crap bands exempt from this treatment? think

Too often, I hear people praising, and I repeat, praising the Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

    The ones in bold.

I'll give you Good Charlotte, Hoobstank, and maybe Gorillaz. The others I can't agree with. I'm not a huge fan of Nickelback, but I added it there because they get so much unnecessary hate. Travis is one of my favorite bands.

I'm not saying they're bad, I quite like Hoobastank and I'll admit to liking a few Good Charlotte songs (call it a guilty pleasure) but they're not the sort of bands who warrant any sort of critical acclaim or mainstream success. Travis on the other hand, I like them too, but they're both critically acclaimed and successful.

Norah Jones as well, brilliant artist but she's won all the big music awards, even got a clean sweep at the Grammys.

To be honest a lot of "Rock" and "Rap" artist make Pop music. Like I mentioned to Ahly the other day. Coldplay is a pop band. There's really nothing wrong with it, but most songs are just catchy tunes, everyday consumers will enjoy and buy.

Doesn't necessarily mean they are any less talented then they are just that they make meaningless music.

Mumford and Sons: I agree. Completely overrated band.

Adele, however, is the most talented person on the music scene right now.

I can agree with you with their newer stuff, but the old Coldplay wasn't like that.

No one will like this, but I love this. It caters to Hip Hop's original demographic, disenfranchised youth. Easy to relate to.
