A lot of players prefer the ball to be moving when they hit it, Paul Scholes for example. Monster of a shot over his career, but he can't hit a dead ball for shit.

You do have a good point.

Hitting the ball well when it's moving or when you're dribbling with it is so much easier than a free kick

I reckon if Carroll took a freekick, it would either hit the wall or go over the bar by miles, unless he does it like Alex used to at Chelsea and just blasts it

Point had potential, not so good though.

I don't think Carroll has the technique to get the ball up over the wall and back down in time..
