This shouldn't even be a topic. You're not going to convince people to stop drinking. Half of the people in here have never even had a drink

    I knew you were.

Actually, my biggest point here was to support my view of banning or heavy regulating alcohol, not trying to convince people on the forum to stop drinking.

Also, being healthy adds on years at the end of your life when you piss and shit when you blink and can't get an erection even if Cheryl Cole clambered on top of you naked and told you to shag her repeatedly up her brown ring.

I excercise a few times a week, go to the gym, don't smoke (quit), drink once or twice a month (don't have a job right now) . I am not unhealthy, and the truth is most people aren't really that unhealthy. It's quite popular to go to the gym these days anyway, and although that isn't really "fitness", it is good for your health.

The people that really abuse alcohol are the ones for whom it needs to be regulated. If someone is a violent alcoholic then it is society's job to help them overcome it, which will make them a better person than if Alcohol were simply banned (they would look for another substance).

Alcohol is something that has become massively ritualized, especially here in Australia, and im sure many European countries too. Too imbedded in society to be banned. Either drink responsibly or drink like a fuckhead, you will get your comeuppance

Damn conservatives. Alcohol definitely won't be banned (we did this before and it birthed gangsters) and it definitely won't be regulated, so why even talk about it.

But it also birthed great works of literature. Pros outweigh Cons.

I would imagine all sorts of drugs have done the same or similar though. Especially when it comes to song-writing.
