cool , looks a pretty complete squad to me. although i'd get rid of some deadwood players like kamara, simplicio, guberti maybe, and one of the two extra GK's. you really should sell some of your high earners as in burdisso, juan, borriello, osvaldo. those 4 really can hurt your budget. not sure if you wanna pay the €24m to keep bojan when his loan finishes so you should start hunting for a young striker with low wage demands

I'm planning to sell Bojan and Juan just not main starters, losing Lamela in the first season hurt me. Any suggestions on a striker? Totti's retiring also.

totti's 36 in my save and still not retiring yet . you can't sell bojan. he's on loan . for your first team, you can try getting paloschi/marilungo as your strikers, but they're expensive. destro/borini are good alternatives
if all else fails, get michele paolucci as a rotation/backup striker. for what you pay for, he's cheap, loyal, consistent, and reliable

I wish Totti would stay
I like the sound of Paloschi, I have €10 million and selling Juan and Kamara should increase my budget.
I'm playing a 4-5-1 formation but i'm more accustomed to a 4-2-3-1 formation, any tips on positions for my players in 4-2-3-1?

i play 4-2-3-1 also, and that seems to suit Paloschi the best as a lone striker. Paloschi likes beating the offsides trap alot so set him as a target man with ball to feet. have him play as a deep lying forward so he doesnt get caught offsides 'too' often. and make sure at least 2-3 of your AMC's have "tries killer balls" as their PPM. Totti and Pjanic already has this and either one of them should play in the center. for your other two AMC's, make sure they're fairly quick and possess decent finishing, because Pjanic is poor at those two attributes. Lamela would've been perfect but =\..... you can try Marilungo, Fabbrini, Bonadventura, Borini, or Schelotto for these wide attacking positions

Thanks man, I will try and get Borini seems the best option. It was sad about losing Lamela it was partly my own doing, he said he was unhappy with someone on the team I said his behavior was unacceptable then I sold him because he wanted to leave

for Norwich I'm trying to build a team of predominantly English players with the odd foreign player. My ideal squad in like 3/4 seasons would be completely English

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
Wilfried tries to force his way out because I don't have the money to give him a better contract in the middle of the season. Cunt. I will do my best to push Fierro ahead of him even though he's just 18.

Guido Marilungo is by far the best option.

M'Bengue-Roger Johnson-Mbiwa-Zubar.
Backup is pretty shit, probably part of the issue.

I have one exception.
Cavani
What sort of 4-2-3-1?

same, i can't think of a better default formation than the 4231. i play it narrow though with no wingers, but that's only because roma has no wingers. do you play with 2 wingers eternal? or 3 AMC's?

Bound to be successful then. You could stick a lower Premireship side behind Cavani and they'd win the league.

yeup it'll be exactly like Napoli IRL then lol. an overrated GK, behind a crappy defense, behind a mediocre midfield, behind Cavani

Lovely. Obviously that squad will be the squad in around 2014/15. Need to get rid of the wasters bit by bit, I'll field a 4-4-2 until 2013/14 then start fucking everyone off.
Cavani will be in his absolute peak by that time, giving me enough time to mould a star English striker into the mix by the time he hits 30 odd.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
May I suggest buying Robert Green to keep the goalkeeping position warm until Smithies comes of age?
Oh and for backup to Cavani I whole heartedly recommend Connor Wickham.

Oh and for backup to Cavani I whole heartedly recommend Connor Wickham.
Good reccomendation, midfield and strikeforce is basically cemented, aswell as left back and GK position.
CB and RB are issues. Could poach Cahill from Bolton.

Shawcross and Cahill will do the job nicely, and you already have Kyle Barley who turns out very good.
