I'm playing as malaga and i'm 7 points behind Barcelona who have 43 points and i'm ahead of real madrid by 5 points.

I'm scoring a decent amount of goals but i'm conceding like a mother fucker.

    18 goals in 15 games.

Whenever you play them find two players who are great at marking and man mark Messi and Xavi. Tends to stop their style dead.

    not
much to it here, Lamela sat deep and was more efficient when playing
further away from Pique, scoring two long range goals (deep lying
forward, support). paloschi caught henrique napping and scored the
third. (deep lying forward, attack). things were looking well and i was
already 3-0 by 35min The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 28 601554

...but then Cheatolona injured 3 of my players in a 10-minute span The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 28 817687,
forcing me into 2 mandatory substitutions before HT. all 3 injuries
involved my fullbacks so i could no longer create anymore from that zone
The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 28 537999.... dirty barcelona...

The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 28 Romabarcainjuries

    messi
scored because i kept my injured WBR, Rosi on the pitch for too long.
my playmakers were from the overlap, so i could no longer create further
chances for the second half of the match. i played more
rigid/defensively and switched from control to counterattack, gave Totti
a cameo sub, and finished the match 3-1 The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 28 207657.

    THANKFULLY,
i have 7 physios on my backroom staff:. Zuniga and Bertolacci are only
out for a few days and will be back for the CL final. Rosi will miss the
rest of the season but he's a backup player anyway. keeping Rosi on the
pitch really worsened the injury i guess

plenty of resting time. 3 weeks until Roma plays Manchester United in the Champions League final bounce

How did you prevent Rosi from getting red carded? I played him for an entire season and he spent most of it on the sidelines with a suspension Laughing

How do you tell someone to specifically man mark a player? I've never really done that.

Before a game it gives you a list of the opponents team. Click on their name and it gives you instructions such as how hard they should tackle, closing down, etc

So.. beating a fairly strong premeirship side with a league two team huh? Sounds almost impossible..

Uhm.. well. you definitely want to stop Faurlin from dictating the game, as he's easily their best player alongside Taarabt. If you manage to stop him from getting involved their attack should be significantly hindered. So if you do have a good man-marking midfielder put him on his tail. You still have to deal with aerial balls from the side, so you might want to consider 3 at the back with the middle centreback (pref. best header) marking the striker who is best in the air, that way you should hopefully manage to keep a lid on Shaunie and Barton even if they get the better of your wings.

I'd also consider pressuring their fullbacks as they don't seem all that competent on the ball, and might not deal well with pressure, plus it should hopefully stop them from getting the ball straight to Taarabt and Shaun Wright Phillips. I think it would be best to avoid getting head to head with Anton, if you have a very powerful and strong striker mark whomever is partnering him to put some pressure on the "weaker" link..

Considering the kind of players they have in the middle I'd avoid playing it through that area. Unless Barton and Faurlin are injured The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 28 279869

Oh and whatever you do, do not play a high line. Shaunie and Taarabt will tear you to pieces.

    League 1 Laughing

I basically started the game before you replied, I went to a 4-4-2, like what I play in League 1 all the time, luckily Taarabt wasn't playing. I made sure their wingers weren't going to get into the game, so I made sure they were been shown onto their weaker foot, for midfielders I made sure they were been closen down quickly, aswell as one wing back so it would force more pressure to the 3 defenders, the striker is completley marked out of the game.

Luckily I got an early goal.

1 nil up with 45 minutes to go... silent

I don't do it all the time and recently I've stopped. I have to accept sometimes that despite having the best team ever assembled that I can still lose 2-0 to Aldershot Town.
