Re: Chat Thread
I just learned something new today which probably is a big reason as to why the USA went to war with Iraq.
In 2000, Saddam Hussein announced that Iraq will start selling oil in Euros instead of Dollars. This is of course a big no-no for the USA. Iran in 2008, pulled out of the petrodollar as well (see: Iranian oil bourse). We are probably going to invade them next.

No it's not. I've never heard of it until now and most people say shit like "oil" (but not the dollar v euro reason), WMDs, freedom, etc.

Re: Chat Thread
I don't think that was a major factor at all.
Iraq was hardly friendly with us and selling lots to us prior to that.
It's not like they'd be the first nation to go off the dollar....which is by nature, fucking stupid to do.

I'm not saying it's the only reason, but it seems like a big reason. Going off the dollar is not a stupid thing to do. The dollar is losing it's value. Selling in Euros is not a good idea either.
Actually, the best thing is probably to sell with your own local currency or a basket of currencies.

Re: Chat Thread
The dollar is not doing fantastically right now, no doubt about it. But it's still leaps and bounds more profitable for a country to trade in dollars, mainly because we are huge and will give favorable deals, etc.
Countries that choose to deal in their own country are generally not prospering.

Stuff like that doesn't bother me for some reason, probably because I've watched the Saw film series a lot.
Bit fucked up how he's just sitting there with half a face though.

Why is it than whenever I walk into this forum there are either disgusting morbid links or talk about WW3.
This time they both were present.

This is serious hour. If you are looking for less serious talk, come on when most the British are on here.

It's just that I feel anxious enough about the future and my life when I'm not on the forum, and I generally come on here to relax and a have a few laughs.

No man, I get you.
I'm probably not the right person to be around right now. I'm a bit depressed and angry at this time.

I am too, but then again that's my general state of mind.
I'm just always thinking about what a shitty place our world is.
