Hull is so close now! and our chief exec is on twitter. He tweeted yesterday that at that time we have 13 coaches and 1300 fans going to Hull, much more than I expected.

Turner expects Good Atmosphere on Saturday
By Organic Bull
Former Hereford United manager Graham Turner has told the Shropshire Star that he expects a good atmosphere when he returns to Edgar Street with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
“It will be a good atmosphere.
“It will be an intimidating atmosphere with the crowd so close to the pitch.
“I had 15 years there and I feel I left the club in a good state, both financially and in terms of the players they had available.
“I felt I had done my time at Hereford and served the club well. You move on and it’s now total concentration on Shrewsbury.
“It is one of the first results I look for after our own and I don’t want to see a former club struggle, but the concentration on Saturday is very much on getting three points for us.”
Turner getting scared and sucking up to us

I'd rather he just fucked off anyway! East Stand looks to be nearing completion I think. It's done from the inside anyway, as in it's safe for spectators. Not sure if the museum is finished though.Radford wrote:My mate who is a Leeds fan said he wants Bates to finish the East Stand(?) then he can fuck off

Funny how being on here makes you look out for other teams. After spending time here I always hope that Bury, Hereford and Cheltenham win.

I decided, after we were 4-0 down after 30 minutes that I would just sit back and enjoy the rest of the game . I really couldn't be bothered to go mad or leave early. I was too interested in seeing how many we'd lose by. It was harsh to take though (losing 8-1) but I found the defeats against the likes of Stevenage (4-0) and Hereford (3-0) more painful, as Crewe played some very nice football.
As for this thread, I kind of want Hereford to stay up so I can discuss League 2 with Radford. Even if we do go up, it would be nice to have a fan from every league.
And I want the likes of Forest and Leeds to go down, not just as they are "massive" but so I can abuse Forest, coolhead and Uncle John when we turn them over at their own ground next season .

We've signed Sanchez Watt on loan from Arsenal til the end of the season. Great signing I think, and he is in the squad for Hull City.

He'll be a great signing for you, blows hot and cold though.
Games like Millwall last season he was incredible, but at other times you forget he's even on the pitch. He's like many young wingers I suppose

Gives me something else to look forward to on Saturday, FA Cup away to Hull and a new signing like Sanchez Watt debuting. Can't wait.

Re: npower Football League 2011/2012
NATHAN Elder was sitting in the stands when he realised the importance of the A49 derby — and he’s desperate to be on the Edgar Street pitch on Saturday.
The 26-year-old former Shrewsbury Town striker was staggered by the scenes at the Greenhous Meadow last year.
“I was sitting in the stands watching the game because I was injured and I was looking around, and the place was going absolutely mental.
“It was only then that it really hit me how important the derby was between Hereford and Shrewsbury,” said Elder, who is now at Hereford.
“When you’re playing you don’t notice what’s going on in the stands but when you’re sat among it, you see and hear everything.
“I knew it was a local derby — but I hadn’t realised how much it meant to both sets of fans.
“When I was driving to the game I was amazed because I suddenly saw hundreds of people and loads of police.”
Haha go on Elder! Get the winner
Buzzing for the game now

Looks like Alex Bruce is off to LA Galaxy... not sure what they see in him, but if I had a choice between LA and Leeds I think I know what I'd be doing! Good luck to him if it works out.

Re: npower Football League 2011/2012
Wrote this for another forum.
From an early age I was much more interested in rugby where I watched Salford and didn’t really have a care for football but I got to something like Year 5 or 6 and started watching football. My dad being a United fan took me to many of their reserve games then I went to a proper first team match, it was the time Beckham was playing because I remember I kept going on about him to my dad. That night was a great atmosphere I don’t remember who it was against exactly but it was a Champions League match and it’s a shame the atmosphere is so shit at Old Trafford now as it’s an iconic stadium. Anyway that was the first match that got me really hooked on football.
I was watching United still but at the age of about 12 I started to watch Bury with my mate on some Saturdays and I loved it as I felt really part of the atmosphere. The game that I think really made me a Bury supporter was the FA Cup replay against Norwich the atmosphere that night was unreal literally every stand was singing and it was in all a fantastic night. Don’t get me wrong I went to some great United matches such as the Barcelona semi final and against Inter Milan but it just didn’t seem for me and when I went with a few more mates to Bury and then on to away games it just felt more of a laugh. You won’t get many people going from one of the biggest teams in the world to a lowly League 2 side which we were when I started watching them!
My low point as a Bury fan was the playoff defeat to Shrewsbury as that season we should have gone up anyway, we faltered at the end and eventually had to settle for playoffs. We went in with a 1-0 lead in to the second leg but at Gigg they got a late equaliser and eventually won on penalties seeing their overjoyed fans was gut wrenching the only salvation was seeing their team lose the final.
My high point has to be the promotion last season that was one of the best days of my life and I will never forget the few seconds we all stood still when Lowe got the ball and smashed it in the net to send us delirious. Another high point for me was the Sheffield Wednesday game as I had been away in Australia I had missed our first game at Huddersfield and the Carlisle game (gutted) but what a better way for me to see my first game in League 1 against a MASSIVE team with their large following. We battered them that day and the ginger Megson had no plan b and with them outnumbering us it was quite funny seeing the MASSIVE fans walk home bewildered at what had just occurred.
My favourite player I would say has to be Andy Bishop or Ryan Lowe. When I first started watching the club Bishop was already a legend and was prolific every season until he got injured but now he is back firing them in! Lowe came after Chester went bust and I’m surprised no other club took an interest as he was a proven goal scorer and you would have got him for nothing but he proved how good he was at Gigg by scoring 49 in just 90 appearances whilst he was here and easily the most notable goal he ever scored was last years against Chesterfield.
This season has proved to be a terrific one thus far as at the beginning of the season we were right up there but then we sold Lowe and Mozika. Things seemed to go wrong after these sales and we went 5 games without a win but the manager and team pulled together and we haven’t looked back and are now sitting nicely just behind the playoffs ahead of our big derby clash against Rochdale tomorrow.

Excellent article. You're right when you say nobody would attend Man U matches then suddenly change to Bury! Especially if your old man was a fan and you actually went to games, you could have easily become a red!
You made the right choice though I reckon. What site was the article for?

Not sure to be honest. My mate said to get a train to Oxford Road cause it's near his house and we can wait for the other lads while having a pint. Tonight I think we'll just do a few bars so we wake up in time for Scum v Liverpool, put bets on and get breakfast and that. Then saturday night all his uni mates are coming round for pre-drinks ( ) then we'll go to a club somewhere. Not sure what he's got in mind to be fair, went to 5th av I think last time and that was okay.
