Mate's brother is a lawyer. Said if he was defending Suarez, he'd be in dreamland over that document.

How can pinching be racist? Because Evra has a different colour of skin?
In South America, yes. Is it the South American interpretation that's paramount, or the English interpretation though.

In the report it was claimed that Suarez pinched him while saying negro negro negro or something on those lines. That obviously has different intonation than pinching by itself.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Patrice Evra is a good honest man, who even defended Suarez, so those of you that have been slating him should be retracting your statements now.
Mr Evra said:
"There is no need for any player to be racially abusive towards another player, it's
completely out of order. I was so surprised because Suarez has played with many
black players and I don't think he's racist but I don't know why he said that."
233. In his oral evidence, after giving his account of what Mr Suarez said when they were in
the goalmouth, Mr Evra said:
"For me it was like I think a bad dream, because I respect so much that player
because he's a really good player"
Anyone who genuinely thinks he invented it all is deluding themselves.

He does sounds like he feels guilty about what happened. I'd imagine he personally didn't feel such a big deal would've been made out of it.InGlennyWeTrust wrote:He's lying through his teeth right thereResurrectionRooney wrote:Patrice Evra is a good honest man, who even defended Suarez, so those of you that have been slating him should be retracting your statements now.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
The common sense part of me wants to say, I thnk Suarez probably said it....since he admitted it. He probably didn't mean it in a brutal way, but more of a banter/we're competeing way, the same way Evra would have intended his South American comment: to get under the skin.
It's not something you go to the ref or FA about. And 8 games is incredibly excessive. Two games would be more appropriate if this is the precedent they want to establish.

Right, so if you get racially abused by an opposing player you should just carry on. Sit down, shut up, that's Liverpool's attitude.

I'm sure there are much worse things said then comments on a person's skin color, especially in the language it was used in, in which it is not offensive.
If this is the way things will go now, then there should be players suspended for 8 games every single game.

Outside of all that bullshit, today was a great round of results for us. Outside of Arsenal getting lucky again, it was a great day. United got pwnd at home by Blackburn haha. Apparently there were boos at Stamford Bridge and Torres still sucks. Spurs are gay and they drew, which was nice. Time for them to know their roll.

I doubt it was light-hearted banter. In the TV footage they looked like they were just about ready to start throwing fists before Kuyt stepped in.

We should send Carroll on loan to a Scottish team for the rest of the season, watch him get about 30 goals and his confidence will shoot up.

we should sign Leigh Griffiths from Wolves. He's scored 11 goals in 13 league games for my Nottingham Forest side
