Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
Ashley Young is overrated and inconsistent as I said when we signed him, he'll go back into some sort of form and do well, then turn to shit again.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
We were much better today. Pretty much everyone was exceptional.
Our attacking third passes were much better - 142/189.
I know it's only Wolves but our defence was solid in terms of tackles, 16/17 successful. 3 blocks, 37/47 clearances, 18/24 headed clearances. This is where we sadly miss Vidic though - Only 16/26 Aerial duels won.
This brings me on to Rio, he was great today, some good clearances and 11/14 headed clearances. We'll miss Vidic a lot but let's hope Rio keeps injury free for most of the season.
Evans was good as well, not sure why everyone hates his guts so much, he's a good squad player for us.

Stats there Moscow.
Why does Evans make it look so difficult though? Doesn't look comfortable in possession at all.

I love my stats
Evans had 88% pass success rate today - 42/48 He also had 100% tackling, 3/3.
Surprisingly, he has the highest pass success rate at the club this season with 91%, in 10 appearances (1 as a sub). This is just above Carrick, at 90.6%, 5 appearances.

Yeah, I'm not saying he misplaces them, but when he has the ball, he doesn't look comfortable, as if he doesn't know who to pass to until he's took a touch.

when valencia is in that form, sure
when young was in good form too valencia didnt have a prayer. thats the think about a squad, we can play whoever is on form instead of being forced to stick with players not on form
Young isnt aggressive enough, seems to play it safe recently, where is the young that was destroying west brom full back. i still believe on form Young and nani are a bigger threat

The Nani chant, which has got going is rather funny: He plays on the left, he plays on the right. He looks like Michael Jackson, before he was white.

Evans just makes me nervous, something about him. However, he is a good player and a run of games will be good for him.

United lost because of tactical naievete, Real Madrid lost because of an unlucky goal, and a player Ferguson described as being 'streets ahead of Messi' missing two glorious chances. In any case, the current Real Madrid side is not getter than the 2009 Manchester United side, and the current Barcelona side is better than any Ferguson has ever faced.

An unlucky goal? Madrid's goal was down to a bad kick then a deflection right in Benzema's path, Fabregas' and Sanchez's goals were class.ResurrectionRooney wrote:ViVaRooney wrote:hey RR mourinho is shit now right. lost to barca like us, and they even had home advantage and a better team then us. this must mean jose is a REALLY shit manager

also when something unlucky happens or someone misses glorious chance for Jose its not his fault. but when rooney misses an open goal its fergies fault you are too funny
also our 2009 team was nowhere near as good as this madrid team wtf are you on about.
madrid played exactly like we did, press high up

How could you say it is Jose's fault? Was picking Ronaldo a bad decision or something? And I have never blamed Ferguson for Rooney missing an open goal.
Our 2009 goalkeeper was just as good, our defence was streets ahead, and our forward line was better than theirs. Their midfield outshone ours, fair enough, but the rest of the side we were better, quite comfortably.

When your midfield is as easily controlled as ours the attack begins to become useless, and the defence have wave after wave of attack coming at them because the midfield just letting players run off them.ResurrectionRooney wrote:ViVaRooney wrote:also when something unlucky happens or someone misses glorious chance for Jose its not his fault. but when rooney misses an open goal its fergies fault you are too funny

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
strikers i would not agree. Benzema and higuan are better then rooney and tevez was at the time. especially tevez who was really shiet that season (higuan and tevez didnt start so thats another similarity)
so really only the defense
2009 against barca: Van der Sar, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Anderson, Carrick, Giggs, Park, Ronaldo, Rooney.
Madrid: Casillas, Coentrao, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Alonso, Özil, Diarra, Di María, Ronaldo, Benzema
i dont know how you can say madrid teams isnt stronger. not to mention thet have the finished ronaldo right now. i guess you saying that 2009 teams even matches this madrid team means fergie is master, since he didnt have to spend anywhere near as much as MAdrid to get that team

This time we scored in injury time for 3-2, we lost, but then the commentator said that we have another game and we must win it. Then I realised there is no other game and I woke up

Ronaldo then was more complete, and Rooney was and remains a better player than Benzema or Higuain, the only difference is that in that season Rooney wasn't playing in as advanced a role, when Ronaldo left, he scored over 30 goals. Tevez also scored over 30 goals the next season when he was out of Ronaldo's shadow. These are both better players than Higuain and Benzema.
Of course Ferguson decided to play Giggs as a striker in the first half, and as a defensive midfielder in the second of that game, and chose to select Park because he felt sorry for him after the previous season, thinking he could win with a passenger, arrogance.
But yes, you're right, building that squad, with Queiroz's help, was an excellent achievement, and Ferguson deserves every credit for that. I look back at the side we had there and it disappoints me how little he achieved with it, it makes me weep when I look at the current shambles in comparison to that. If I hadn't seen such riches, I should live with being poor.
Ps. Messi should have been sent off in the Claisco last night, it's another instance of luck favouring Guardiola's Barca against TSO's Madrid.
