I think we do, yes. Second leg at home could be the deciding factor for us. A lot also depends on how each squad will look by that point.

The defence is quite weak compared to most other title winning sides, at a push it could win the league but it would be a difficult title race.

How? Koscienly isn't the best, but, Vermaelen is really good, Cole in his prime is class, and Sagna is the best RB in the League.

I don't think it's weak at all. Sagna is the best RB in the league, Cole is the best LB in the leave, and Koscielny has improved a lot and Vermaelen is quality and Szczesny is quality. Although I suppose there are better CB partnerships out there. I'd say Koscielny and Vermaelen are better then Skrtel and Agger though. Song is possibly the best DM in the league, and the front 6 would be the best in the league.

Sagna is barely in the top five in the league, never mind the best, he's fairly solid at the defending part of his game if unspectacular while his attacking game is fairly mediocre.

He's the best defending RB in the league, and his attacking isn't bad either.

    Name better.

    1)Micah Richards
    2)Glen Johnson
    3)Kyle Walker

Some may scoff especially on this thread about my choice of Kyle Walker, but he's an excellent Right back, very good attacker and a decent defender to boot.

    1. That is 3
    2. There is no chance any of them are better. Richards comes very, very close, and could surpass but you can't say Walker. Sagna has been good and consistent for 4 years now, Walker has played about 40 games with Villa and Tottenham.

The defense would be quite poor. Not the back 4 but the whole team defensively. Especially with corners if you think about it, Vermaelen is the only good player aerially . RVP + Adebayor could be helpful at defending set peices I guess?
Not sure how you can say its a title winning team as it takes more than just a good starting XI.

I said barely in the top five...I was going to include another player but I would be labelled as biased if I did. More to the point do you really think that Micah Richards is a worse right-back than Sagna. At the moment Richards is the only rb that I can say excels at both attack and defence. If City were lose him, a key cog of their immense attacking and defending machine would be lost. The same couldn't be said about Sagna if he played for a club with a bit of depth in his position.

Richards really isn't fantastic at defending. Maybe you could argue Ivanovic on top form is better than Sagna.

    And do include the other.

People say Sagna does not shine, he is just there and does nothing outstanding. Others say Richards does, in 4 seasons Sagna made it into TOTY (Something Richards hasn't done) and played a little under 25 games less) Yes, I do. Richards is not key to Manchester City. Likewise Walker is not, not Johnson. Sagna barely ever makes mistakes, he has a great balance of pace and strength. Richards talents have only just started to be recognised, does that say something in contrast to someone whose talents were recognised just a few months after joining the team.

Sagna is the best, closely followed by Richards.
