Re: If you had a time machine...
<----This guy has a love for history. But I would certainly not help Hannibal against the Romans. Roman history is the most interesting of all of them.
I'd consider the obvious few:
1) Go to future, get rich
2) Kill Hitler
3) Kill Bin Laden
Other options:
1) Go to Woodstock
2) Check out the dinosaurs

Re: If you had a time machine...
Carthage was interesting. They had war elephants, incredible generals, and were just as advanced as the Romans if not more. If not for a stupid decision from their own senate, Rome would have been cut short of her prime. The greatest empire that never was.

I'm sure I could use my gift of hindsight to get around that. Or act like a mysterious soothsayer. Very superstitious that lot.

Hate that guy.
Egotistical cunt. Hannibal should have defeated him at Zuma, elephants had to be retarded and the mercenaries were cowards.
Wish they'd make a proper movie about Hannibal, the real one.

I would go back in time and help Antony and Cleopatra at the battle of Actium. Stop Octavian before he even started.

Get the Brits to lessen the tax on the colonists. Not saying the USA would still be Britain's bitch, but who knows.

1 Go to the Cavern Club to watch The Beatles.
2 Watch the Battle of Agincourt.
3 Go to Future to bring back all the medical advancements back to the past so my family can benefit.
4 Watch the 1953 Fa Cup final and the 1966 World Cup Final.
5 Help Blackpool FC by giving them a list of all future stars.

Destroy it, the second you go back into the past you're destroying the universe that you came from. Everything would develop differently.

The scoreline..was 20-1 to Hannibal. The ineptitude of the Carthaginian senate is irrelevant.

I would go forward to the Euro 2012 Final
watch the final and see who wins. Then I would print off every single result that happened in that tournament, and every single league in Europe. Then I would make a fucking killing betting on games

Carthage was razed to the ground and humiliated on multiple occasions by the Romans. Yes Hannibal was good, but they still couldn't handle the Romans. Nor could the Greeks for that matter

Funny..I just dreamt about this today, and in my dream I went before the 09/10 season started and since I already knew what the scores were going to be I made bets on the results

The Romans only won the war through loyalty, home advantage, the interception of a Macedonian messenger just when their two main enemies were about to forge an alliance, and chiefly the mind-numbing lack of reinforcements given to Hannibal after the battle of Cannae. There are so many what ifs about the Punic wars, events that could have changed so much of this world. Would have helped if Hannibal wasn't the only master tactician Carthage had to offer. At the end of it all, it was one of the greatest and most interesting conflicts in history. No doubting that.
