Gutted at the news. It's going to feel very strange not seeing Lucas' name on the team sheet. The worst part of it all is, if we continue to do well, and a new central partnership blossoms, Lucas will almost become just a memory. He might have a hard time getting back into a successful, on-form team. (If we do go that direction)
Hope Gerrard comes back soon, then at least we'll have the options of Gerrard, Henderson, Adam, Spearing and Shelvey for the central midfield spots. None of them can really replicate what Lucas does for us though, so it's a bit tricky.
We could possibly try Aurelio, but I don't know how that would go. Maybe not. People on RAWK were suggesting Agger but I don't agree. We definitely need to buy someone who excels in that role, and I have no idea who it could be. Lucas is the best in the world at what he does. (cue RR's and Filippo's Liverpool thread alarms)
I would be happy with Tioté, he's been fantastic so far for Newcastle and is only 24. We can't keep taking their players though lol. They must hate us enough as it is.
