If a player doesn't do as I tell him I sell him for pennies as well. I'm just not a very nice guy on FM Razz

yeah i rarely lose in FM, so all hell breaks lose when i do

i don't blap on refs though, because i don't like being banned. i enjoy having a 100% match attendance

but i still remember in FM11, i was managing everton and i lost 0-4 to sampdoria. tim howard was my vice capt. he made 2 blunders and got 3.6/10 for player rating. i fined him 2 weeks obviously, gave him "the talk", stripped him of the vice captaincy, put him in reserves, transfer listed him, rejected all offers, then in the next transfer window i sent him on loan to some chinese club (one of my feeder teams)

it was a lot of work (on my part), there should be a one touch button for "Send to China"

Quality. I would love a button like that. Numerous players who get red carded in big games that would get that treatment Laughing

Laurencio wrote:Hmm I need to get back to my Roma save. I was creating an all Italian side. Was pretty good too, just needed a top class goalkeeper.

ironically, arent italy supposed to have the best goalkeepers? Very Happy (after germany of course)

i made roma an all italian side in fifa11, it was fun. for FM, i'm planning to do an all German side for Schalke after my Roma save

Laurencio wrote:any italian sides with a fairly good player material to start with?

juve. they're historically known for being pro-italian. roma easily has the best italian youth though hands down. our primavera won the cup last season so SI really boosted our U-20 players in FM

Braad wrote:Might start a Roma one, whats there budget like? Or might do Blackburn.

terrible budget but plenty of old players you can sell for good cash. buy/loan some players to "get by" for 3 or 4 seasons then you can start raping Serie A with your developed U20 players. make sure you bring back bertolacci (who's on loan at lecce)

Yeah I just couldn't find anyone cheap enough really. Considering I already had Curci I figured I might as well just play him while I find that perfect target. Decent goalkeeper, far from good enough though..

I was thinking about Juve, but they have quite a few foreign stars on high wages that might be a hassle to sell considering selling players has become a bit of a nightmare in FM again. Can't even ship players off for free anymore. I quite like Roma though, so I'll probably end up going them again Razz

I have an odd obsession with Italy I think. Whenever I am an Italian side I don't really tend to look at non italian players, while if I'm an English or Spanish side, I look at just about anyone who seems good enough Laughing

really? i have so much trouble trying to buy "fairly priced" italian players for Roma. FM gives us too many rivals. Bologna, Lazio, Inter, Milan, Juve, Catania, Napoli, etc. most italian players play in Italy, but in FM most clubs refuse to sell to Roma, unless if the price is inflated Dry Smile

Napoli accepted €12m offers for Cigarini but demanded 27 when i tried to match a bid. Napoli/Roma dont even hate each other in real life

Steve Gohouri = dropped. I was only playing him because of injuries and then because I wanted to keep continuity when I won. I think he just broke a record for the fastest ever Premier League red card. facepalm

Messi has 6 months left on his contract and Wayne Rooney is transfer listed by request cause United are doing shit.

Of course this would have to happen on my Athletic Club save, where I can only buy basque players, as opposed to my Chelsea save where I woud actually stand a chance of signing them.

    Wonderful.

Messi is 27/28 and Rooney is 28, I think. I'm only four years into the save so they aren't old at all.

Yeah buying players is a bit of a hassle, but when you find that italian gem, and you can look at your squad and say "this is the backbone of the Italian national team" it's just a great feeling. It MAY take a while though, which is why Roma is always a long term save for me Razz

One of the big positives with having a squad full of players that came out of your youth academy is that pretty much everyone loves the team and are okay with taking a pay cut.

I've asked 4 dudes in a row and they have all agreed to it. shifty

I can never quite get my youngsters to be any good. I've tried improving youth facilities, hiring the best of the best youth coaches, getting rid of any "old" reserve players to give them more match experience, affiliating with clubs to try to loan them out (not that they are ever willing to be a loanee to a club they would play regulary for), create stage by stage youth development schedules, create all technical youth schedules.

Heck I've even tried letting my youngsters play exclusively in the league (that was a disaster). They just don't really hit that level where you could say that they deserve to play in the first team.

They'd also only conceded once in all competitions for like 20 games at the start of the season.

Blew my mind when I noticed it. Never seen such a crazy good defence.

sweet talk him. if you're still desperate, buy/loan one of his listed favorite players/personnel. especially if it's a shitty player because then he'll be cheap and you can just loan him out
