Hate to say it but I don't think they should've renewed this show for another two seasons, it's very much on a downward spiral Sad
    Stop watching it then?

I'm not exactly saying it's become the worst thing on television, it's just nowhere near as good as what it used to be. I don't see what new ideas they could bring in either.

That said, it's one of my favourite programmes so I'd be more than happy for them to prove me wrong.

Doubt they will go that far.

But whether this is on a downward spiral or not, it remains easily one of the best on tv.

I didn't think they'd get to an awkward situation like this at all an they have.

I don't understand the judgement behind this. Why risk alienating your audience by putting in a sub-plot which threatens to upset the dynamic which has worked so well so far? Dexter and Deb form the emotional element in this show, for instance that scene where Deb thanks him for saving her is beautiful. This could prove to be suicidal. The only way I can justify this if it leads directly to Deb finding out about Dexter. Soon.

Saying that, the two actors were apparently married at one point.

Yep, recently divorced. I think it was only finalised a few weeks ago.

Was this a sick attempt from the writers to get them back together or something? shifty

The show was probably written when they were still together.

On another note, I want to know what the significance about the intern is. Will that all be concluded (and explained in the first place) in the finale or is it something for next season scratch

Future villain, possibly next season... or two, maybe he's the guy who brings down Dexter, he's shown good skills.

    OH SHIT.

EDIT: Spark reaction to just seeing the episode, Dexter's writers still have to many 'ugh' moments, how did Dex get to the bottom of the building with harrison and travis with no one noticing? Why did Miami Metro go to a crime scene and just wait outside (and not see the dexter/devil mural) come on man.

He used the lift before they realised shit had gone down there, and they waited outside to avoid contaminating the scene.

    Still man -_-

Wonder how the writers are going to parlay this into two seasons, something this big (although the show has always been leading to this) seems like at most it can be played over one season, maybe 5-6 episodes even.

I don't think she's going to out him. They've made a point to show that she's not the most stable person around.

Just watched the last episode and I thought it was a pretty poor finale except for the last 4 minutes, they made it a bit too obvious what was going to happen.

It will be interesting to see which route they take next season but it's a bit shit that we have to wait 10-11 months to find out. Mad

Miranda of Mass Effect, and one of the stars of Chuck. I watched a few series of it and she is a real beauty.

Fairly sure there was a thread for her on the old Babe section.

Basically most other shows are just for passing the time waiting for Dexter for me, have read 4 of the books now as well enjoy both very much, they are different which is nice.
