Why is tv so shit?

I swear, I haven't watched tv regularly for 6+ years, it's just all gone to the shitter.

The channels I watched before, namely, History Network and Discovery, are both utter shit, all those cartoon networks I enjoyed as a kid - shit, animal planet? Not a single wild animal in sight, comedy network? Fuck that, there is no comedy to be found.

I could go on, but I think my point is made. I was more wondering if my feelings were shared by the people of the playmaker?

Today I download only the programs I enjoy. I have a TV but it is only ever on the news and weather channels.

Yeah, besides football and baseball and the other football, you'll be lucky to find me watch more than 3 hours of tv a week.

Nothing interest me. I think television is now a reflection of our society. Lazy, unimaginative and conformist.

Yeah I don't watch a lot of TV anymore other than My wife & Kids ( Laughing

) & Sports & occasionally the news.

I watch a couple of shows but they're all downloaded - hate ads.

when I was at school I used to watch at least one show per night (when Lost & Prison break used to come on). prefer to use the net when I'm bored now.

Only time i watch TV is for football, shows like Family Guy/American Dad and if there is a decent film...normal TV shows like documentaries, soaps, quiz shows etc are complete wank

Surely you guys have History, Discovery channel and all that jazz in the shitter?

Only difference is that IIRC in England a military channel is split from history?

It still counts on TV. Cable TV shows are fine, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Community, etc. etc. just because they are available online doesn't mean that TV quality has declined. I see nothing here.

Yeah there are quite a few history/discovery channels:

Discovery - a bit of everything
Discovery history
Discovery turbo - cars and shit
Discovery science
Military
Nat Geo
Nat Geo Wild

Most of the time they're filled with crap though and a lot of stuff gets repeated.

I only 'watch tv' a couple of times a year, when I'm visiting my mother. I just watch the shows I like on the net when I'm home, I'll usually pick a show and watch through all it's seasons.

Here in the good ole usa it's basically dance shows, singing shows, and CSI ANYWHERE!!! I watch netflix and watch some local news! over here we're going to be voting for a president to ruin the world even worse! but the UK will help us fuck up everything from A TO Z! Willard rommey our mormon racist is coming to London, hold your breath on that bastard!

I don't really watch much TV other than sports and interesting documentaries.

These are the shows I stick to though:

Boardwalk Empire
Game of Thrones - Still need to watch the second season, but I'm going to read Clash of Kings before I do that. shifty
