Both really. I believe pay for performance bonuses are illegal in the NFL unless your contract says so, and I mean having a pool of cash that goes to a player who knocks another player out is just wrong.

I can understand the first bit being against the rules, but why is the second bit wrong?

One objective on defense is to inflict as much damage as possible in the tackle while still keeping it legal, that's why big hits are so admired. Provided the tackles are legal and they don't do dirty things to injure the player, I don't see the problem with a goal being to knock the QB out of the game.

To be honest I agree, and most players don't seem to have a problem with it. But the NFL has a strong commitment to upholding the "integrity" of the league, and players/coaches creating a bounty pool to knock out players isn't a good look. Most people believe Goodell overreacted, especially with Vilma and the Saints coach (suspended the whole year) if they got 4 games or something I think this wouldn't be as big of a deal.

Yeah heard it's like one of the strictest punishments ever.

Why Thursday night football gotta be on at 4am over here? Least convenient time ever for a Thursday. Suspect

The Thursday night matchups always suck (on paper), they always schedule one good team and one trash one.

I just want to see Chris Johnson play. He talks such a big game off the field.. gets his big ass paycheck.. then rarely produces.

He says the Titans suck and need more playmakers, I agree obviously, but you just can't say that.

He's been so garbage lately, are the Titans bad? Yes, but you can't put up the kind of numbers he is putting up this year and talk shit.

Strong ass performance by the Jets, 34-9 over Andrew Luck and the Colts.

49ers - Charges next, then Houston - Green Bay after that... oh boi

Dez Bryant drops 2 point conversion that would've tied the Ravens - Cowboys game at 31.

    He ain't bout dat life.

Giants -7 was 10/1 before the game, was thinking about putting £10 and those odds look real good about now.

Jay Feely is da gawd, 61 yard FG!

EDIT: Now he misses the game winner from 38 yards. facepalm

EDIT2: Bills now win it OT, fuck football.

EDIT3: On the bright side at least the Giants laid the smackdown on the 9ers.
