Re: The tennis thread.
I didn't say he was playing better or anything like that. He's gone a round further than he has before, which is a step up.

I don't know why you guys all hate Murray, sucks to see the emotion in his voice, wonder if he'll ever win one.

What? Reaching the Wimbledon final means nothing.

If you figure that from the conversation you're a spastic.jeb4eva wrote:kyro7 wrote:And means nothing.SBSP wrote:I didn't say he was playing better or anything like that. He's gone a round further than he has before, which is a step up.

Charlie Brooker wrote a brilliant article about him in the Guardian this morning

It's just a 4th slam final that he's lost, at least he's took a set this time.
Lendl's said since he became his coach his job isn't to get to semis/finals, he's been doing that for 4 years.

Because he's Scottish. Pico will probably give you several more reasons, but that's the main one.dena wrote:I don't know why you guys all hate Murray, sucks to see the emotion in his voice, wonder if he'll ever win one.

I really hope Andy Murray gets mad and searches Twitter, finds your annoying shit about him, tracks down your IP address, comes to your house, breaks down your door, grabs you and shoves his fucking racket up your shit pipe.

Sucks for Murray, he deserves one but what can you do when the goat plays like that? His time will come.

Tough watching Andy's speech, feel for him.
Congrats to Roger Federer though, such a nice guy that I can't begrudge him the win.

Your point was that he didn't make a step up at Wimbledon when evidently he did. He had never reached the final at SW19 before and was the first Brit to do so for 74 years. Now you can say what you like about him not being able to beat the 'big boys' but this was a step up for him as he performed better than all the previous years. He also had a tougher route to the final and played exceptionally in most of them against Tsonga, Ferrer and the likes.

I don't think it ranks as meaningless when this is the holy grail for him. Sure, it's disappointing for him to lose out again but having reached this step on his favoured surface he will know he can go one step further in the future.
