Re: Mass effect 3
I used vanguard thoroughly in my second playthrough on ME2. I enjoyed it alot.
On ME3 I can't comment, though I've used Vanguard online and don't have a problem with biotic charge. Like Marvin said, only idiots mess it up. Charge with a shotgun (or a really strong pistol like the Paladin when you get it) and start blasting away, finish off with a nova if someone gets near, and run for cover and don't forget to use your squadmates powers as support. The upgrades for the nova can cover for it's weaknesses too.
Alternatively, charge, then use one of those powers that give you shields like fortification.

Re: Mass effect 3
- Spoiler:
- After investing an odd one hundred hours of gameplay give or take into the series, I was expected atleast an option for a moderately happy ending. The choices we made throughout all the games, meant shit all in the end. And what really grated me was how we never saw our war assets fighting together. I wanted to see Krogan battering through heaps of husks, while making way for Geth primes to storm through god damn it.
I let Tali(my romance)die in my save, yet later in the game there was another romance scene with her, even when she had quite clearly died along time ago. I wasn't sure if Shepherd was hallucinating or it was just a glitch, either way it was a poor show.
How many trilogy's introduce a new character in the last 10 minutes, none. I generally found the whole little boy subplot, poor and forced.
Might I add the journal was horrible, I had to run through the entire of the citadel a couple of times, just to be sure I had dropped everything off.
Overall it was a magnificent game ruined by the last 10 minutes. Suffice to say if it weren't for those last few minutes, I would be praising this game to high heaven, it's such a shame I will remember the series for such short-comings and not the terrific story and characters.

The thing with biotic charge is.......like I said, I use it and then there is like 5 people/geth/aliens/whatever shooting the shit out of me. Shit man....there's not that much time where you can stay out of cover and not die....usually some kind of big ass dude firing shit at you.

- Cortez doesn't die if you talk to him a lot....basically the ME3 version of loyalty. If you help him get over his husband's death (...) he will survive
Also that "Tell another story about Shephard" thing suckeddddddddd

- I did talk to him a lot, maybe not enough though. Why didn't you like it? I think it was okay, I mean it wasn't the worst thing about the ending, my only gripe is the complete LACK of closure, I mean, i've played these games more than any other with probably about 100+ hours of play time and there was no happy ending or anything..
I WANTED TO BUILD TALI A HOUSE GOD DAMN IT!

Re: Mass effect 3
Not about the ending or anything like that, just a squad member;
- Spoiler:
- EDI is by far the best squad member, she is fucking hilarious. Like Legion but with epic humour.
I had to take her everywhere with me cause she had me cracking up all the time. Only time I had to leave her behind was when I was forced to pick Tali, I normally roll with Liara and EDI (speaking of which they make a good combination in terms of conversations).
Too many to remember but there was one where you go to save those scientists and you see Jacob, after the dialogue EDI goes "Jacob did not recognise me, perhaps a surprise attack is in order?" or something like that anyway. Shepard being the buzzkill he/she is just repiles "Let's just focus on the mission EDI..."

Re: Mass effect 3
I didn't like him. He was alright to talk to, the dialouge between him and a female shepard is pretty good, but I would never bring him along with me or anything like that. Besides, I had Ashley and Garrus who do basically the same thing he does.
I doubt anyone did to be honest, he was too much of an unknown like with those news reporters.

Re: Mass effect 3
Another question, this is the choice that has seemingly been put towards me right before the shroud mission.
- Spoiler:
- Cure the genophage, reject the Salarians. Or con the Krogans into thinking it has been cured and in addition gain the aid of the Salarians. Latter seems attractive but I quite like the Krogans and I'm sure they'll find out quickly of my deceit. Hardest choice I've been presented with so far, what should I go for? Again, don't spoil me on future events.

- Spoiler:
- I figured it was time to cure it, worry about the consequences afterwards. The reapers are far more of a threat than krogans and their sheer numbers would surely give you more of a chance. Also I had Wrex as the leader cause I saved him so it made my decision a lot easier.

- Spoiler:
- Wrex. I saved him back then but the save data was lost on my previous console.
Suppose I like Krogans more than Salarians though. I'll just wait until the last moment to decide.
Oh and Marv has a point. Another Krogan population explosion and I have a killing machine at my disposal.

Love playing as a Vanguard. The charge attack might not be super-effective, but it's pretty awesome.

Thinking about it the adept charge attack would be suicide against Brutes or even Banshees.

I do that all the time against brutes when they're on low health. Charge attack, Nova, shotgun.

and on the Krogan thing
- Spoiler:
- On my first Character I cured the Genphage as Wrex was leader. However on my second one he's dead and Wreav seriously looks like he would be a massive dick so I don't think im going to cure it.

I've come to the conclusion, after extensive play, that Engineer is the best class in the game.

Re: Mass effect 3
Really?
Teammates can overload and there are no mechs to sabotage throughout the game. Only the odd Atlas and one geth saga. I don't think the drones are all that useful either, and Incinerate never does the damage I want it to do on multiplayer.
You also have the second lowest weight capacity or something other.
~~~
Does sabotage even work on Atlas? Seeing as they are controlled by people...?
Re: Mass effect 3
I was talking more about Multiplayer than the campaign mode.
Drones and Turrets are extremely useful, often the difference between life and death. Drones are just a distraction really, even when fully powered up they are a bit shit but Turrets on the other hand are just amazing. Especially when you power it up with the flamethrower.
That's odd cause everytime I use Incinerate I always reduce their life bar to half and if I combine it with cyro blast then it's a one hit KO.
As for the weight thing, I'm just assuming you would only use one or two weapons. I've yet to see someone other than soldiers use more than two weapons.
And yeah you can sabotage Atlas.
You need to get the upgrades in packs.
- Spoiler:
- I know, she died for me as well, but i'm kinda glad that she did, not because I wanted her to die, but because her death was quite well done and it was quite emotional. I was surprised cos I thought that I had done everything I had to do.
