    Mass effect 3

Post by Guest on Sat Jan 21, 2012 9:46 pm

May be a bit early but fuck it, its Mass effect. Anyone else getting this? The 1st one was exceptional and while still very good I didn't think the second one lived up to the hype.

Trying to steer clear of the hype with this one What a Face .

I thought the game play was better in the second than the first , but the story was worse, the demo comes out soon I think Smile

Mass effect 2 had marginally better game mechanics than the first one although having said that I do miss the old complex rpg system shifty . In terms of story while I thought the characters were more fleshed out in the second one, the overall plot had no sort of closure and the choices I made in the first one didn't have much dramatic effect, which disappointed me.

I hope the third one leans more towards an RPG than a shooter.

For the first time ever in life i agree with polska, ME2 added a lot of story elements but they weren't meant to be closed, that's what the third is for, all loose ends will be tied. Also, I had too many gun/armor/ammo quantities in ME1, it just got annoying, ME2 had enough variety so you could mix it up but still had plenty of guns.

Perhaps closure wasn't the right word, I mean for me Mass effect 2 felt like a filler, we learnt next to nothing of the reapers and generally I felt underwhelmed afterwards.

    Seriously?

We learned so much about the reapers through the collectors.

demo can be played right now on Xbox 360 if you get a code from a facebook app Smile just completed it, the gameplay is really cool but the demo is really short and there's only 2 dialogue options every time Neutral hopefully that's only in the demo. Anyway yeah, gameplay is good overall but you can still feel the game is unfinished...

The "Horde" type thing on multiplayer was really difficult, I got through about 5 rounds and thought I'd nearly won but then I saw there was ten Laughing

Never played MA1, but got the 2nd one for free through the DA2 promo and didn't really like it that much. Probably because I've never played the first one and I didn't really understand the story properly, but all in all I didn't really enjoy the gameplay that much either so I just don't think this is a game for me.
